He garnered attention when the then Delhi Daredevils (currently Delhi Capitals) acquired him at the 2015 IPL auction for 2.6 crore (approximately US$416,000). Seasons 2020 IPL
During the 2020 season, he remained the captain of the Delhi Capitals, guiding them to their first IPL final versus the Mumbai Indians.
