As per the reports published on January 2 2025, Shubman Gill, the Indian International cricketer among four others from the team Gujarat Titans has been summoned by the Gujarat CID crime branch in connection with Rs. 450 crore ponzi scam, according to reports. Along with Gill other cricketers, Sai Sudharsan, Rahul Tewatia, and Mohit Sharma are going to be questioned.
All these developments surged out after the interrogation of Bhupendrasinh Zola, the alleged mastermind behind the Ponzi Scheme. Per reports by Ahmedabad Mirror, Zola admitted that he failed to return the investments made by the cricketers. For those unknown about the ongoing scam, let us inform you that Zolka has been accused of orchestrating a Rs. 450 crores chit-fund scam, which is widely regarded as the ‘kingpin’, of the Ponzi operation.
This report has suggested that Gill, who captained Gujarat Titans in the 2024 IPL, invested over Rs. 1.95 crores in the scheme, while Mohit Sharma, Tewatia, and Sudharsan made a smaller contribution. As of now since Gill is part of India’s Test squad in Australia, the CID plans to summon all the players on later dates. In all this scenario, attempts have been constantly made to reach Mohit Sharma, but all were unsuccessful.

- Shubman Gill made his very first or say List A debut for team Punjab in the year 2016-2-17 for the Vijay Hazare Trophy on February 25, 2017, playing against Vidharba. This very debut he scored 11 runs before being run out.
